(Var: TANellis) Large, full blooms of deep orange-red have a fragrance that will knock your socks off. The plant is a shorty and requires an extra shot of fertilizer to get stems long enough to show. The reddish tinted foliage is extremely resistant and persists long enough to give the plant an extra shot of starch that insures hardiness even in cold winter areas. Oddly enough the introducer withheld this variety from the market for five years for fear it couldn't compete with Tropicana. Looks like it's going to outlive it. Hybridizer: Tantau, 1963

A coworker told me about this rose about 30 years ago. I didn't get one until a couple years ago and she was right! This rose has fragrance to die for and the color is visible from far away. She is stunning and deserves a spot in any rose garden. I have 4 of them now. I love to cut them and bring them inside and they fill the room with perfume.
