(P.P.21071) Novel color and exhibition quality blooms will have rose aficionados clamoring to obtain this distinctive hybrid tea. However, you don't have to be a rose expert to grow Dark Night as it has natural toughness, above average disease resistance and the ability to produce an abundance of blooms in all kinds of conditions. The color is like nothing we have seen. A dark, velvety red finishing black-red on the inside with a reverse of light yellow suffused with red. Large buds are high-centered, unfurling to form cup-like blooms. Foliage is dark green and very glossy. If you're on the lookout for something different, give this rose a try! Flower size: 3-1/2-4". Fragrance: Very slight. Hybridizer: Meilland International, 2012.

It's completely gorgeous when it blooms, but the flowers don't last long. Mine also died at the beginning of the second season, so the black baccada next to it is now all alone. :(

Beautiful highly fragrant blooms. I wish that it would produce more blooms. It wintered well in my zone 4 garden, with a winter covering of lots of mulch and insulated construction blankets. Its graft is planted 3 inches deep. I do not tip it for the winter, just cut back and cover.

Not sure if it is just the one I received or not, but arrived with some disease and has not florished at all. Ordered 6 roses total from Edmunds, but this one continues to struggle while the others are beginning to bloom. Very disappointed.

this rose has quickly become a favorite of ours. We like it's unique coloring with the light underside and very dark red fronts of the petals. It does very well as a cut flower, keeping it's color throughout the bloom cycle when cut. Left on the bush it fades to a red-brown color. Prolific bloomer, very light fragrance.
