The easiest rose & biggest performer in my garden

Puts on a show especially if you plant 3 together. The shrub form is lovely and elegant. Around 3 to 4ft tall and 3 ft wide. Small but prolific blooms. Nice scent when 3 planted together in bed near the patio. I've had them there for 10 years. Had issues with spider mites during the drought, so i hacked them down to the ground and threw on some beneficial mites and assassin bugs and they came back the next year in full glory. I don't fool with sprays. I don't even fertilize much other than a little alfalfa and osmocote some years if they're lucky. I mulch with cypress and call it a day. These roses are GREAT because of the beautiful shape of the bush and the ease of care. Very few roses have such a pretty form in the landscape.

Ducher is another lovely shaped shrub rose that is set it and forget it here in South LA. Just elegant and lovely like the sweet drift. Ducher is twice as wide as the sweet drift however, and Ducher can handle a half day of shade and morning shade at that! (unusual for roses here due to humidity)

Anyway, of all the drifts, sweet drift is THE best. I don't plant any of the other drift roses any longer. I've tried some of the other ones and they just don't do as well as sweet drift. I call her a shrub rose if you plant more than one because she self sows and gets to be more like 4 feet tall and 3 feet wide after several years. If you plant one then i suppose you could call her a groundcover rose.
